Paws in the Park
The Chickasha Area Arts Council took part in an event to support the local animal shelter. "The Paws in the Park" event was an adoption drive as well as a major fund raiser for the local shelter. The Chickasha Arts Council hosted a photography booth where pet parents could bring their pets in costume or not and have their photos taken. The Arts Council also made bandanas for pets to wear during this event.
50's Sock Hop and Ice Cream Social
The Chickasha Area Arts Council held its fundraiser on May 18th, 6-9 p.m. at the St. Joseph Hall located at 214 S. 7 th Street in Chickasha, OK. The theme is 50’s Sock Hop & Ice Cream Social.
Entertainment includes the band “For the Name”, contests, including hula hoops, dancing, costumes, and most artistic sundae. There will be live art featuring local artists, who will be drawing caricatures, silhouettes, and much more.
The funds went to help present the Rock Island Arts Festival, held Sept 27, 28 & 29th 201?, in downtown Chickasha, OK at the Rock Island Depot.
The Chickasha Area Arts Council sponsors the annual Rose Hill Cemetery Historic Cemetery Tour. The purpose of the tour is to celebrate Chickasha’s heritage by highlighting the lives of individuals vital to the development of our community. Costumed actors utilize monologues written by our research committee to bring Chickasha citizens “to life”, highlighting historic activities and stories giving insight to the economic and social development of our community.
